George Orwell’s anti totalitarian novel Animal Farm, was almost destroyed during the Nazi bombings of London during the Second World War. Having been rejected by many editors, including TS Elliot, who was working for Faber & Faber at the time, the novel would have to wait until it was finally printed in 1945, and eventually became an animated film funded by the CIA in 1954.
