In 1995, two years before Steve Job’s return to Apple, he was interviewed by Robert Cringley. At that time, Steve Jobs was running Next, the company he founded after being ousted from Apple by John Sculley, the CEO Jobs had brought from Pepsi to take the company with him to the next level.
Robert Cringely interviewed Jobs for a show on the creation of the Personal Computer for PBS, “Triumph of the Nerds“.
Only a couple of minutes from that interview were finally used in the broadcasted program. The rest of the footage was thought lost until Paul Sen, the director of the series, found it in a box in his garage. The 70 minutes long original VHS footage of the interview had been “hidden” for 16 years. In this interview, Jobs talks about everything, from John Sculley to Bill Gates through his vision on the future of the Knowledge Society.
